They did it! A couple of years ago, we asked Wild Republic to make Spix Macaw buddies so our friends can adopt their own "Rarest Parrot on EARTH", the Spix Macaw. Join the long adventure in recovering the Spix Macaw species we have been supporting from helping organizations create the "Spix Macaw school" to bringing top field experts recovering the Spix Macaw to remembering the REAL PARROT the endearing movie series "Rio" is all about.
Truly, we did find one, last, male blue Spix Macaw in the US and sent him to Sao Paulo, a breeding facility. Equally, we truly made a great attempt at their release to give the species a chance to be wild once more. They were breeding in the wild as well! Keep their spirit up as we face the next challenge where we hope we can return them again to their native roots!
"People Helping Parrots, Parrots Helping People." That is the motto of Flight Club Foundation. Our Mission: "To increase awareness of and advocacy for the environment our parrots rely on by uniting communities, improving welfare, supporting conservation, assisting research, creating educational programs, inspiring adults and involving the youngest generations in the changes we need to make."
